Closing this out. The original report was against 9.1.3, and in a later comment the reporter confirmed the behavior no longer reproduces on 9.2.1, where all of the concurrent requests in the Read-While-Writer thundering herd complete as expected (one cache miss leader followed by cache hits) instead of hanging until the active transaction timeout. The 9.1.x line is also end-of-life. The cache read-retry path in HttpCacheSM has had further fixes on the current line since then as well. Since the reporter verified the issue is gone on a supported release, I am closing this. If anyone still sees trailing requests aborting under open_write_fail_action of 5 on a current release (10.x), please open a fresh issue with a reproduction and we will take another look. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
