I was reading through the Illinois State Science Goals today while I was
preparing a lesson and I noticed something odd. There is nothing in the
goals about teaching science terminology. My lesson called for the terms
geosynchronous orbit and low earth orbit. Neither of these were really
addressed in the goals, either.
Am I wasting my time teaching about orbits and any science terminology?
