i think UseIMAPS is fine - better than the imaps: hack, which is really
inconsistent with the rest of the options. of course it will be
accepted for the lifetime of the 1.x series anyway (but undocumented).

hmm, i just found that several printfs use ->host anyway (e.g., the
password prompt). one can do two things now:
- make the host mandatory, even if only for labelling purposes
- don't use the host, but the name of the server definition (unless the
  message is directly related to network activity). the compat wrapper
  would have to be improved to create better names (like [EMAIL PROTECTED]
  instead of just bar). for manually created names one can assume that
  the user gave the definition a sufficiently descriptive name.
of course i prefer the second variant. one thing, though: in theory, the
SSL certificate verification should check the host, no? it doesn't now,
it seems ...
