I wasn’t really sure how new messages were treated, to be honest. Do I read the
source code for that?

So then if I have a message named `1627163067.207749_1.hostname,U=1672:2,S', I
should rename it to `1627163067.207749_1.hostname:2,S'. Then do I move it to
`new' or `cur'? `mbsync' hasn’t seen it, so maybe `new', but it’s been read
(`S') so maybe `cur'? And don’t touch the `.mbsyncstate' or `.uidvalidity'
files? Once it’s there, running `mbsync' will take care of the syncing as
normal?

Thanks again.
