Hmm, I can't seem to replicate this behavior now, so please either take
it with a grain of salt or ignore this issue for the time being.

this is most likely closely related to you other issue, and happens only with INBOX. that's because that folder is special per imap spec, and is silently created when missing, even without -Cn (iirc). i clearly didn't neutralize this properly in the dry-run situation (it was more of a quick hack, really).
