Position: Project Manager

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 6+ Months 

Rate: $55-57/Hr Best

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Manage the IT project(s) under his/her control and ensure delivery on scope, in 
time, on budget and according to PEC standards 
Define and/or assess the scope of the IT change required, with a focus on 
alignment with global strategy and minimizing regret costs 
Manage retail IT and Project resources to complete gap analysis between 
business requirements and existing IT infrastructure/systems, and to deliver 
project deliverables to agreed scope, timelines and budget 
Execute the project following the project Terms of Reference (ToR), PCP agreed 
deliverables and Project Delivery Framework (PDF). 
Actively lead the project team to maintain focus on the delivery of Global 
defined solutions and enforce rigid change control over scope, budget and 
schedule. 
Work closely with the global and local Business Project Manager(s) and the CM 
Central IT Team to ensure project is aligned with CM Program objectives and 
strategic objectives 
Communicate effectively and transparently to project stakeholders and central 
CM team to ensure project status, risks, dependencies and issues are understood 
and effectively managed 

Responsible for: 


Delivering the project on time, budget, to scope, in line with PDF standards 
Risk, issue and dependency management, driving transparency and resolution, 
signaling and escalating Project Management or deployment issues where CM 
project plans and progress are not in line with program steering and 
guidelines. 
Delivery of all project deliverables to ensure they support the project 
objectives and quality standards and are aligned with company standards and 
strategies 
Ensuring project compliance with company governance processes, obtaining 
functional sign off on project deliverables, scope changes, PCP, resource 
requests and related Terms of Reference 
Produce, own and manage project, finance and resource plans 
The preparation of the weekly and monthly aggregated project reporting to be 
provided to the Implementation coordinator and steering committee according to 
and PEC standards 
On-boarding of all new RIT CM staff working in the project by making them 
acquainted with the project scope, deliverables and processes 
Prepare and actively maintain the project stakeholder list, communication plan 
and training plan. Pending the size of the project this responsibility could be 
delegated to a dedicated CM resource (part time or full time) 
The interface and alignment with the project steering committee and other 
relevant stakeholders of the project to ensure an integrated approach 
Report regularly and transparently to Project steering committee 
Actively capture and share lessons learned with peers to improve project 
management processes 

Project Specific Deliverables include: 


1. Evaluating data collected by the ongoing As Is assessment activity for site 
systems (which includes back office connectivity and internet access) 
2. Documenting the most common configuration currently in place 
3. Determining gaps to close in order to meet a set of standardize 
configurations for connectivity. This includes gaps in Site Back-Office 
systems, telecom configuration and/or telecom infrastructure 
4. Documenting options for enabling connectivity including cost, schedule, and 
complexity for each of the standardize configuration 
5. Developing a Program-level investment proposal (IP) for a multi-year 
roll-out to retrofit GSAP live countries and to prepare future GSAP countries 
6. Producing all mandatory PDF deliverables for countries where project will 
complete SG 1 and 2 

Domestic Travel Required: 75% International Travel Required: 25% 

Technical Skills and Experience: 

Proven project management and planning skills for projects exceeding $1mln USD 
Thorough understanding of project management processes and tools 
Proven project-controlling skills, including financial, risk and schedule 
management. 
Strong problem solving and analysis skills 
Ability to lead and motivate project team and local staff 
Ability to establish and maintain influential interpersonal relationships with 
all project stakeholders. 
Demonstrated management skills 
Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
Awareness of contract negotiation and management when dealing with third party 
suppliers 
Ability to prioritize competing tasks and delivery under pressure 
Knowledge of Project Delivery Framework methodology (PDF) or similar, eg 
PMP/PMI 
Familiarity with project planning tools such as MS Project to assist control of 
the project 
Able to drive business change and manage multiple teams 
Ability to prepare and review IT cost proposals and gap analysis 
Strong business and customer focus 
High level of self-steering motivation and guidance 
Demonstration of LAT (Leadership, Accountability, Teamwork) behaviors. 

Soft Skills and Experience: 

Project management professional with 2-3 year experience 
Project management in IT related projects. 
Successful management of deployment and application development projects within 
the company. 
Experience in working with changing business organizations. 
Working in cross border multi cultural teams. 
In depth knowledge of project Methodologies. i.e. Project Delivery Framework 

Optional skills (Technical and soft skills):


Understanding of Information Technology principles associated with Retail site 
infrastructure projects. 
Understanding of Retail Business processes.
