*Cognos Developer – * Duration: 3-6 months *ALL qualified candidates * *MUST have Cognos 8- SQL- Framework Manager, * This individual is responsible for developing reporting solutions to meet the requirements set forth by the projects assigned. An individual whom would fulfill the requirements of this position would have advanced technical skills in the Cognos product suite (Administrative tools, Cognos 8, and Framework Manager) and have advanced data analysis skills, in order to support the reporting needs of the projects. This individual should have the ability to propose, design and build reporting solutions, including development of the models/catalogs, reports, and scheduled processes and Events. This individual would have to have an extreme eye for detail and validate reports using multiple data analysis methods. Soft skills we are looking for are that they must also have strong professional written/verbal communication skills; friendly customer service and relationship management, team-oriented, sense of urgency and ability to juggle multiple tasks and changing priorities. This role is also required to participate in the on-call rotation, responsible for ensuring business critical applications stay online during their system available windows. Typically requires troubleshooting of production issues and reporting issues to the correct support group. Currently many of these issues occur during the business day, but it is also possible for an issue to arise off hours as well. * * *Description of Position:* This resource will be primarily responsible for the following: § Understanding the business data created by JM&A § Creating reporting solutions that answer business requirements § Analyzing data using SQL IDE's to find data anomalies and resolve reporting errors. § Analyzing and providing feedback on data models used § Gather business requirements and designing solutions § Cross-train peers on designs and implementations § Test, debug and document changes *This resource will also need to participate in the following:* § Participate and ensure the transition of development projects to production § Peer review project/task deliverables of the team for quality and efficiency § Fulfill requirements of formal change management process. § Provide weekly status reports to management, § Maintain current statuses on service, problem and change tickets *Candidates MUST have the following experience in consideration of this position:* - Experience with Dimensional (Star-Schema) and Relational Modeling § Experience with Cognos Versions: 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 for the following specific tools: Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio and Query Studio. - TOAD, DBVisualizer, SQL Analyzer, or other SQL IDE's § SQL § Experience with SQL Server and Oracle Skill Area Specific Type Years Experience Operating Systems Windows XP 2+ years Programming Languages SQL 5+ years Specific Technology Products REQUIRED TECHNOLOGIES: § Cognos Versions: 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3 for the following specific tools: Framework Manager Report Studio Query Studio § Dimensional (Star-Schema) and Relational Modeling § SQL Server and Oracle § TOAD, DBVisualizer, SQL Analyzer, or other SQL IDE's PREFERRED TECHNOLOGIES: § Cognos SDK § Cognos Server Administration § Java or .NET Development 3+ years 5+ years 5+ years 5+ years N/A * PLEASE SEND ME THE RESUME TO MY OFFICIAL ID BELOW* *Best Regards* *Chris** Nihaki Systems,Inc.
