This is NOT a development role - rather it is a lead or manager that can help with 24/7/365 support for a large DW. This person should be a very senior consultant with perfect communication skills. HIRE OVER THE PHONE Strategic Architecture Services Master Data Management Support/Operations Lead Under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Master Data in the Strategic Architecture Services team the MDM Support/Operations Lead will supervise a team in monitoring and operating the 365/24/7 operations of the Master Data System. As the MDM Support Lead you are responsible for providing 2nd level support by interfacing with Tier III developers/vendors when resolving and reporting system issues/bugs for MDM systems. This position will utilize ITIL/SDLC frameworks and industry best practices to support cost effective MDM operation including: - Production job scheduling - Job monitoring - Incident management - Ad hoc troubleshooting - Change Request management - Status and metrics reporting - Coordination with other support organizations (SAMs) Details Duties: - Supervise the complex calendar of MDM ETL and Siperian processes that extract, transform, de-duplicate and load data into the Global Master Data system. - Manage ongoing maintenance of the data warehouse environment to ensure high availability, performance and data integrity - Oversee monitoring and troubleshooting jobs, loads and client data access - Oversee monitoring of the automated system alerts, log files and change requests - Manage the process related activities and troubleshooting MDM jobs according to established SLA's. Research problem tickets, incidents to implement processes to prevent repetitive issues. - Provide weekly report on DW activities, status and metrics, as well as communicate timely updates when there are issues with the Data Warehouse. - Schedule and inform management and client base on planned and unplanned outages of the system - Interact with and coordinate activities of Tier I,II support, other Support teams, as well as Development, Integration groups. - Work on projects to better improve DW Support model - Maintain all documentation related to support activities - Coordinate infrastructure changes with MDM Architecture team - Understand and implement appropriate security models to support ad hoc data access while ensuring conformance to security and privacy regulations - Coordinate activities of onshore and offshore contracted staff in performance of support/operations tasks. - Provide off-hours support when necessary and respond to emergencies in a timely manner Qualifications - 5-7 Years experience as a Data Warehouse Support Manager or Lead - 3-5 years of hands-on BI/DW development or support experience, with a strong foundation in ETL (DataStage), Oracle, Multi-dimensional data, and preferably Master Data Management Systems (experience in a corporate-wide CRM warehouse would be acceptable) - Knowledge of Siperian Master Data Management Hub strongly recommended - Knowledge of job scheduling tools - mandatory (UC4/Autosys) - Experience with data warehouse/data mart lifecycles and methodologies - Proficient in one or more relational database such as Oracle or MS SQL Server - Extensive experience using SQL to develop queries - Strong understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling - Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills - Ability to effectively communicate with Business Units, Team Leads and IT Management to implement, support, and monitor DW systems - Four-year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field. General Function: Creates, administrates, and controls database resources. Is responsible for performance and tuning of the database, security, backup and restore, and data integrity. Monitors performance, stress and load tests, and tunes for increased performance. Creates and refines standard processes to maintain currency and address gaps for future implementations. Keeps informed and trained in advances in their specific field. Can perform after-hours support for global clients. May be on-call 7x24. Reasonable technical documentation skills. Capable of performing effectively in a team, or alone and unsupervised. Communicates effectively verbally and in writing - with team members, management, and clients. May require specialized pharmaceutical industry experience.
