Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Duration: 6-9+ Months Face to Face may be required!! Job Description: Perform as a Data Architect to oversee all data management functions for operational applications as well analytical/DW applications. Develop and help implement a data management strategy (data structure/model, data quality, data integration, data security, metadata, data life cycle), understand pros/cons of various data integration approaches, develop a data life cycle management approach including data quality and metadata management and recommend approaches to building a master data store within an organization where there is a combination of packaged as well as in-house developed application involved, be able to articulate and communicate the value of disciplined data management, be able to function as a data modeler when necessary, have an excellent understanding of data management technology such as DBMS, OLAP, integration tools, data quality tools, metadata management tools etc. Furthermore, oversee the enhancement of an existing DW, be very familiar with DW/BI concepts and have experience in all aspect s of that as well. Responsibilities Ideal person will have strong Operational systems experience (versus DW only) or Informatica knowledge. Define a Data Strategy. Develop a Data Architecture in support of the Strategy for operational data, informational data (DW), including business rules management, metadata management, data quality, etc. for both structured and un-structured data. Develop a Data Integration strategy including all different patterns based on business requirements Analyze and document current state Data profile and life cycle across the business unit. Develop a transition plan to move from the current state to the future state defined by the data strategy. Work with business and PMO to help define purpose, ownership, usage, security, quality, etc. of all core data (data governance) Design logical and physical models in both relational as well as dimensional models and data structures, as appropriate. Participate, and when necessary lead, business requirement sessions, data model design walkthroughs, and infrastructure reviews. Assist projects with data architecture needs and challenges (e.g. data analysis & modeling, business rule definition, data usage and quality checking, data integration approach, data security requirements, etc.) Manage and assist in the activities of the Data Modelers, as necessary. Provide the necessary data sourcing and data mapping specifications information to the development team. Assist the operational DBAs during production migration and support including performance tuning Provide on-going education in data management, data architecture, data modeling, Database design and efficient SQL coding techniques to all levels of associates including management Assist in communicating the value of sound data management and BI applications to the business. Minimum Qualifications 10+ years IT experience insurance, financial and/or automotive experience will be a plus 8+ years experience as data architect and modeler Experience in all aspects of data management methods and practices including data modeling, design of data schemas, data migration/conversion and data warehousing. Hands-on experience in developing and implementing enterprise data architectures and complex data models for both operational as well as data warehouse applications In-depth knowledge of relational modeling, dimensional modeling, and entity relationship modeling In-depth knowledge of operational systems data architecture and data integration approaches In-depth knowledge of various DW architecture approaches (e.g. Hub and Spoke, Dependent Data Marts, etc.) In-depth knowledge of ERWin data modeling tool and SQL language In-depth knowledge of ETL technologies (Informatica Strongly preferred) In-depth knowledge of BI technologies (Cognos 8 strongly preferred) Hands-on Experience with RDBMS a plus (Oracle and SQLServer) Degree in business or Information management a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required Thanks, Angela Thomas Account Manager Data Group Inc --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "IT provider" group.
