Position: UDB Database Administrator Location: Cincinnati, OH Duration: 3+ Months Contract to Hire Rate: $55/Hr Best Face to Face is required. Description: Client in Blue Ash, Ohio is looking for a UDB Database Administrator on a right-to-hire basis. This position is responsible for the day-to-day support and administration of a large, dynamic Data Warehouse environment. The applicant will work closely with IS&S users, applications, and technical staff. Candidates for this position must be eligible to be hired directly by our client: US Citizen or Green Card. Candidates requiring sponsorship are not eligible for this role. Requirements: Database administration experience. UDB EEE/DPF preferred. Bachelor of Science degree in a data processing related field or relevant job experience. Must have excellent communication skills demonstrating written and interpersonal abilities. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Familiarity with Fixpack installs and client connectivity. Experience with upgrades of UDB databases. Bonus Skills: Experience with IBMs TSM,TWS products Experience with BMC Patrol product Experience with Microsoft Project Experience with AIX operating system Experience with Korn-shell scripting. Essential Job Functions: Support of Large-scale EEE/DPF environments. Work with Vendors on problem resolution, upgrades and new product installs. Work with Application teams defining and implementing database requirements. Assist with creation and setup of UDB Instances and databases. Follow Standards and document UDB database environments. Administer processes for performance tuning of databases. Administer processes for capacity planning. Provide proactive performance monitoring of databases ensuring service levels are met. Administrate change control of physical data structure for all environments. Administer backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures for databases. Create physical data structures from either vendor supplied data base design or custom data base design for all environments. Provide primary and backup support for UDB databases. Provide 7 x 24 on-call support on a rotating basis for UDB databases.
