Responsibilities
The Information Architect will create the content and navigational structure of
the user interface for NYC Business Express based on Requirements provided by
the Business Analyst and with input from the other team leads, particularly the
UI Designer. This encompasses all possible user task interactions with the
system as well as the overall usability of the screens. This role is critical
to the success of the project. A solution that incorporates User-Centered
design principles assures that the application will be more accessible and
effective for the NYC constituents, reducing long-term maintenance costs (e.g.
Help Desk, Production Support, etc.).
Qualifications
1. At least 4 years of web experience and IA experience for web-based
projects.
2. IA work samples (User Task Flows, Site Maps, Wireframes, Functional
Specifications) for information- or technology-heavy projects.
3. Experience working with SDLC methodology.
4. Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator,
Html/ GoLive/ Dreamweaver, Visio).
5. Proven analytical skills through work experience.
6. Ability to communicate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team
members.
7. Ability to work on multiple projects to completion with a minimum of
supervision.
8. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to
clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team
player who works well with technical and non-technical resources.
9. Must take initiative, be a decisive decision-maker and show confidence
in decisions made.
10. Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant
guidance.
