Position: Java Lead Developer/Software Engineer Location: San Jose, CA Duration: 6+ Months Rate: $45/hr BEST RATE Job Responsibilities: - Build scalable, highly available web applications on top of eBay application infrastructure. This is a role for a strong developer who loves software development and dealing with interesting challenges with traffic volume, scalability and user experiences. - Provide leadership in designing, developing state of the art new eBay motors web site. - Define and lead project from design to implementation to deployment. - Provide scoping, analysis, and prioritization for projects. - Work closely with peers, PD managers, Product Managers, QA, ops and architect team to develop innovative solutions that meets business needs. - Partner with business to assess opportunities, prototype and test ideas, prepare short term and long term product plans, design robust and flexible software architecture that is focused towards low cost maintenance, stable operational environment and agility in development. Job Requirement: - BS in Computer Science or MS in Computer Science is required. - Minimum 8+ years of java experience in architecting and developing scalable, distributed web applications. - Require strong experience of building web services and building experiences and applications consuming web services. - 5+ years of experience working in United States onsite is preferred as understanding of the US automobile industry is beneficial. - 3+ years of experience being a lead developer in a web application product focused on service oriented architecture. - Experience managing and/or working with teams across geo-graphical locations. - Strong understanding of and practical experience with Java web application development. - Solid database skills. - Strong problem solving and application debugging and trouble shooting skills.
