This is a 2 month contract with Blue Shield in San Francisco, CA. Do have time to work on this ? Sr. Programmer/ Analyst for 2 month contract Required Skills . Candidate must have expertise in Web Technologies (.net, ASP, VB, JAVA, IIS & Websphere App Servers) and programming languages. . Candidate must be experience with SQL Programming language, MSSQL and Oracle database technologies. . Candidate must have development experience with multi tiered architectures, document management and workflow systems. . Experience with NetworX Pricer a plus. . Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. . Seven years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. . Comprehensive knowledge of English Language Programming or current generation programming languages. . Working knowledge of UNIX and Microsoft operating systems and systems hardware maintenance . Working knowledge of Oracle and SQL database operation . Familiarity with network communications technology. . Seven years of experience SDLC developing commercial software . Experience with RUP and Test Driven Development a plus . Proven experience in architecting, design and implementation of multi-tiered solutions . Hands on programming experience in ASP, Java, SQL, Shell scripts is required Oracle or similar RDBMS experience required . Prior work experience in Unix and Windows operating systems, document management and workflow systems. . Specific knowledge with FileNet, KoFAX , RightFAX, and MQ applications is a plus. . Previous healthcare experience a plus. . Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and requirements documentation. . Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities Responsibilities: . The candidate will be responsible for analyzing business requirements; determining appropriate technical approach and developing specifications for implementation. . In this role the candidate will be the primary application leader tasked with interacting with the technical architects. . This individual will be a key contributor in defining application enhancement development efforts in close collaboration with the IT development team and the Contract Load and systems business unit. . The candidate will be expected to lead technical design activities; produce sizing estimates; oversee application code development; conduct technical code reviews; direct application performance tuning tasks; consult on testing plans; and participate in all related software build and deployment activities. . The Technical Lead will directly oversee development efforts of vendors, contract and BSC development staff and communicate technical specifications, resolve design/architectural issues and ensure quality delivery. . The candidate will ensure that development is in compliance with BSC and BSC IT policies & standards. . In a secondary role, the candidate is expected to provide technical backup for other department applications. . The candidate will be the primary technical staff responsible for the application level operational production support. . In this role, the candidate will work closely with the IT Operations staff to diagnose and resolve escalated technical issues in the production systems. . The candidate will be required to interact directly with the business users and the operations staff to address production related issues. . The candidate will be required to represent the application domain knowledge to other departments in Blue Shield. They will need to participate in department projects and responds to request and inquiries as needed. . The job requires the candidate to be on site during normal working hours and to provide occasional after hours support. Remote access options are available to accommodate after hours support.
