*Description:*
This position will be working on the conversion of the Unemployment
Insurance (UI) database from IDMS to DB2. Primary responsibilities include:
code review, management of databases, backup/recovery, archiving, space
management, table performance tuning of large databases, review/analyze and
provide recommendations for improving long running or high cost programs,
partitioning strategies and applications using OMEGAMON for DB2 and DB2
EXPLAIN as well as logical and physical data modeling using ERWin tool and
work with application groups to design and implement database requirements.
--Provide DB2 security, debug system problems, and provide assistance to
application staff as well as interact with operations staff on production
problems and ensure adequate production procedures are in place. Provide
assistance to end users SQL requests. This position will work directly with
UI application developers and DWD database administrators.
--Hardware/Software Environment: IDMS, DB2 version 8, DB2 version 9, CDB,
Trace Facilities, Omegamon, EZDB, OSC, Platinum.
