*Please send me suitable resume of your available consultants.* *AS/ 400 Lead* *Location: San Diego, CA Duration: 8 -12 months* *Other skills: iSeries/ admin AS400, i5/OS (V5R4, V6R1), iSeries/AS400 security vulnerabilities and remediation * *Responsibilities * - *Performs installation, upgrade, configuration, deployment, and administration of iSeries/AS400 operating systems and hardware. * - *Coordinates OS version upgrades, software fixes, and preventative maintenance to minimize risk and service disruptions. * - *Resolves complex issues and implements projects at an advanced technical level regarding iSeries/AS400 systems operations. * - *Works to ensure user satisfaction by providing installation, configuration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolving complex problems. Resolves availability, capacity, and performance issues. * - *Ensures that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. * - *Analyzes and evaluates iSeries/AS400 systems operations and provides technical direction and recommendations to improve utilization. Implements automation procedures and tools to optimize staff and computing resources and their availability. * - *Coordinates with multiple vendors/departments/field staff to procure at favorable prices, and distribute, IT equipment including, hardware, software, and services. * - *Acts as a liaison between internal and external user communities. Collaborates with application support staff to design and provision services, and troubleshoot problems. * - *May act as team leader on projects. Establishes and communicates common goal and direction for the team. Monitors project schedules and costs. * - *Conducts training for, and directs the efforts of, end users, outside vendors and less experienced staff. * - *Designs iSeries/AS400 security architecture and administers access.
