We have an urgent requirement with one of my clients for InnoDB or MySQL replication consultants. Location – San Francisco Duration – 6+ Months Rate - Open Responsibilities - Improve the storage efficiency of InnoDB storage engine. - Improve MySQL replication to support high availability. - Design and implement MySQL features to support Twitter's large-scale operations. - Improve latency, throughput, and consistency of MySQL performance. - Work closely with the DBA team to diagnose production problems and drive to both immediate work-around and long-term resolutions. - Research and develop new technologies in operating system, data storage and hardware, such as: FlashCache, RAID controller features, etc. - Improve and maintain MySQL clients (Ruby, Python, Java, C). Desired Skills & Experience Requirements - Proven ability to understand, design and implement complex algorithms. - Demonstrated experience in writing functional, design and test specifications. - Five or more years of experience in writing or maintaining large software projects with multi-threaded C or C++ - Three or more years of demonstrated experience working on database systems internals - Familiarity with software development on Linux and/or Unix - Fluent in English. - Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably with a background in database technology Desired Skills: - Development background on InnoDB or MySQL replication. - Experience with distributed revision control systems, such as Git, Subversion, Bazaar. - Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, or Ruby. -- * If you need any more information, please feel free to call.
