*POSITION PURPOSE*:

As a member of IT Application Management, the Data Warehousing
Multidimensional Support Engineer (OLAP) will assume a key role in
day-to-day support of Business Intelligence tools, Decisional and Reporting
solutions, and multidimensional Database solutions at Client.  Decisional
Application Support team is currently responsible for maintaining and
managing 24x7 application service continuity to the user community and
providing technical support for reported issues.  He/She, as part of the
Application Support team, will complement support analysts in research,
evaluation, and resolution of issues, understanding application design,
software architecture, and set up areas, and maintaining development, and
communication standards.  He/She will engage in customer service to the
end-users and to assist and correct issues related to supported applications
and business flows.

*PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:*

*Technical:*

1.    Provide application support to ensure availability and reliability of
multidimensional database solutions at Client’s.

2.    Implement and maintain:

·         SQL Database

·         OLAP structures

·         ETL procedures

·         Multidimensional cubes

·         MDX queries in MSAS 2000

·         Calc Scripts Hyperion Essbase 6.5

3.    Analyze multidimensional structures to facilitate the identification
of support issues.

4.    Assess source data quality and preparing data-cleansing specifications
for the ETL process.

5.    Test programming code created by the developers from the ETL,
Application, and Meta Data respository.

6.    Perform data loads/exports to research and identify discrepancies in
data quality and consistency.

7.    Conduct performance and tuning of ETL processes, cubes, and technical
documentation related to same.

8.    Provide technical support (including upgrades and patching) of
existing Data Warehouse ETL environment, including Oracle 9i, Essbase, and
MSAS Prod environments.



*Service:*

1.    Work with business on assigned Help Desk tickets and research/resolve
them while following application support protocols and help desk process
flows with rigor and vigor.

2.    Engagement in user facing and communication tasks while interacting
with support teams, Business users and Super Users, vendors, and quality
assurance team.

3.    Work with IT quality assurance and software delivery teams regarding
code tuning efforts, project phase, post-implementation phase, and
performance analysis, as matters are observed in the production environment.

4.    Participate in the periodical rollout and provide application support
of additional functionality/releases/upgrades.

5.    Work closely with the users to rectify the data and reporting
discrepancies.

6.    Prepare and maintain key SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) documents
and technical specifications for new and existing solutions.

7.    Handle 24x7 on-call assignments as per application support schedule.

8.    Adherence to all Service Level and programming standards.

9.    Identify training opportunities and knowledge gaps, participate in
mentoring and training of business and IT users.

10. Work on additional assignments as delegated by management.



*EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:*

* *

1.    BA/BS in Computer Science or related field.

2.    Minimum of 7+ years experience with Multidimensional and ETL
development tools including MSAS, ESSBASE, Data Integrator, Informatica or
Genio a must; preferably more in the BI/ETL space.

3.    Minimum of 3+ years experience providing production level support
and/or development in BI/ETL environments.

4.    Experience with Microsoft Analysis Services and/or Hyperion ESSBASE
required

5.    Experience working with DTS Packages, Essbase calculation scripts,
load rules, ESSCMD desired.

6.    Database knowledge in Oracle 9I and MS SQL Server 2000 or higher,
including PL-SQL and T-SQL, performance tuning, indexing, and partitioning.

7.    Knowledge of data warehouse architecture (Kimball, Inmon, etc.).

8.    Exposure to Applix Executive Viewer and/or Business Objects a big plus


9.    Exposure to data quality tools (Firstlogic preferred).

10. Able to communicate technical solutions to front-end business customers.

11.   Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

12. Excellent organizational and data analysis skills with attention to
details.

13. Excellent analytical, problem solving, time management and interpersonal
skills.

14. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

15. Ability to learn rapidly and to apply formal training to new software
environments.
