*Job Title: Data Analyst Location: Chicago IL Duration: 7 Months*
REPLY TO: vkaus...@dyssinc.com ** This role is responsible for documenting the business data requirements which include high level through detailed data flow diagrams with named data flows. Part two of this is a detailed data attribute inventory organized by data flow and correlated to the data flow diagrams by data flow name. Additionally this role maps data elements from the Business Data Requirements Document to the Logical Data Model (LDM). This role also coordinates all other data oriented deliverables required by our solution delivery methodology including the metadata workbook, the CRUD matrix, the volumetrics table by query, the data source inventory, the Information Design Specification, the Query Tuning Checklist, the Data Backup and Recovery Plan, the Logical Data Model, the Physical Data Model (PDM), and the data map from LDM to PDM. In later phases of the project this role also assists the developers with data defects, helps to find and fix poorly performing queries, coordinates DDL changes and implements production data changes. This resource will attend project team meetings, assisting the project manager and Team Lead with technical information and data deliverable coordination, and looking for data and other infrastructure issues and raising them to the Application Solutions Office so that they can be addressed before they impact the project timelines. This resource will act as a member of the BCAG data analysts group and so may be required to shift from project to project to assist other team members as program priorities change. Creating, producing and coordinating these data deliverables requires a talent for problem solving, attention to detail, the ability to work independently, accurately and meet deadlines, provide excellent customer service to our customers, experience writing efficient SQL queries, and some data architecture/data modeling experience. The ability to work with and extract requirements from business users, and the ability to influence those who this role has no formal authority over in order to meet project deadlines are a must. *REQUIRED SKILLS:* Experience supporting mainframe application development teams is preferable. Must be proficient at using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio. Experience with Mainframe DB2 version 9 is a plus but is not required. Experience with other mainstream relational databases like recent versions of Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server may be considered in place of DB2 experience.
