If you have a matching profile, please send me the updated resume along with contact details at the earliest. *Position- Linux Administrator/ System Engineer* *Duration – 6 Month* *Location- Emeryville, CA* *Interview Process – Telephonic and Face To Face * ESSENTIAL Job Duties & Responsibilities · Provide proactive system and application support for a multi-tiered Linux-based application delivery environment · Analyze and tune systems for performance, throughput, resource utilization, high availability and scalability · Support and maintenance of Linux security integration for LDAP authentication with existing Windows Active Directory · Perform standard configuration, management, and maintenance tasks for VMware platform and related file systems, storage, network, and applications · Review and deploy Linux and Windows-based system related and vendor supplied application patches according to best practices · Provide support for various Java and Tomcat-based applications on both the Linux and Windows platforms · Provide automation and tuning of enterprise systems and applications through use of scripting · Deploy internal application software updates in multiple environments, from Development to Production, following established Change Control process · Proactive monitoring of Linux and Windows server systems and associated applications · Participate in disaster recovery and fault tolerance management and testing · Troubleshoot and break/fix for hardware, operating system, and application software problems · Provide escalation support to other system administrators MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ·In-depth knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu / Red Hat) administration and multi-tier application production operations ·Experience with Linux and Windows performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and security hardening ·Strong knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, PHP, Java, SMTP, DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, CIFS, NFS, BIND, SNMP, and Linux system security ·Previous experience supporting Windows Server and related Windows Technologies ·Previous system configuration experience (Chef, Puppet or CF Engine) a plus ·Strong scripting skills (e.g. Shell, Python, Ruby, Perl, and PowerShell) ·Previous experience administering VMware ESX ·Demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills ·Experience with managing Open Source software ·Self-motivated, self-directed, and attention to detail while working with data ·Ability to effectively prioritize and execute reporting tasks in a fast-paced, results-driven environment Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a diverse team of business and IT staff Thanks & Regards..
