*Job Title : DevOps / Linux System EngineerLocation : Seattle, WADuration : 7+Months Contract Description: * Requires a bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. *Responsibilities: * Primary responsibilities include implementation and support for Internet based solutions developed for these business units. This includes any content delivery systems, hardware configuration, custom software implementation, database administration, network and systems design, performance and process improvement, and systems documentation. The ideal candidate would be proficient in systems management and application deployment automation through authoring and maintenance of Python, Perl, and shell scripting as well as experience implementing and maintaining enterprise configuration management solutions such as Chef. This position is also responsible for planning and executing small-to-medium scale projects within the Technical Operations team. Typical projects would include new business unit initiatives and updates to existing products and services that require planning, incredible attention to detail, and flawless execution *Basic Qualifications: * Detailed knowledge of server hardware technologies and systems support administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, security, and general maintenance of Client platforms. *Experience managing Github and Nexus or equivalent source control and bit repository systems.* Experience managing Jenkins or equivalent continuous integration platforms. Knowledge or experience managing Opscode Chef or equivalent application configuration management platforms (IE: Puppet, CF Engine, Salt, etc.). Knowledge of core Internet and networking protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, ARP, HTTP, HTTP/S, SSH), IP communication, packet structure, load balancing equipment, and troubleshooting. Experience with enterprise operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Linux. Experience with web application development platforms, tools and utilities including PERL, VBScript, Python, PHP and Javascript,.
