Nebraska Department of Roads / Business Technology Support Division is seeking dedicated Application Developers to join our team of performance driven professionals. The positions would join NDOR’s Highway Asset Development team in helping to build and support Highway Safety-Accident Records applications. These positions are federally grant funded and will be utilized for one specific project. To meet federal requirements, Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) Highway Safety – Accident Records Section (HS-AR) is working toward its goal of becoming 100% MMUCC version 4 (Model Minimum Uniform Crash Criteria) compliant. The target of this project is to upgrade the current mainframe data based system(s), as required, to accommodate and integrate for the expansion & collection of all MMUCC version 4 data elements, making NDOR compliant. Each Developer will become part of a team tasked with providing new development for Highway Safety/Traffic Safety related systems. NDOR utilizes Agile development methodology. NDOR web applications are built in MVC pattern with MSF C#.NET, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and XML which interact with the Department's Information Systems. NDOR has a number of legacy systems built using COBOL and DB2. The candidate(s) chosen for this position will be expected to perform the following: · •Explore and gain a thorough understanding of the business · •Troubleshoot problems and provide support on existing products and services · •Work as part of a software development team in the implementation of projects · •Write code based on reading and understanding the following in the system : - Technical Requirements - High Level Architecture Diagrams - Database Schema Diagram - Class (Entity) Diagrams - Security Patterns and Constraints •Ensure architecture is complete, correct and consistent •Implement fixes based on findings of Quality Assurance Analysts •Follow the given project plan and ensure project milestones are met as planned •Use best practices and coding standards for a project •Manage his/her own tasks in project Requirements: · Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's Degree in Web Development/Web Design/Computer Science or hold a Technical Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent combination of education and minimum 5+ years web development experience). · Perform daily tasks of analysis, programming and testing as needed. · Assist with; capturing business requirements, design, .NET architecture, OS/390 platform and development. · Develop applications in MVC pattern with MSF C#.NET, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and XML that interact with the Department's Information Systems. · Make enhancements to existing applications with COBOL and DB2 on the OS/390 platform. · Perform front-end, middle-tier and back-end development. · Extremely detailed oriented and able to follow Department standards. · Strong verbal and written communication skills. · Candidates must work on-site at Nebraska Department of Roads, Lincoln, NE. · Regular and reliable attendance is required. Experience with: · Test Driven Development. · Telerik Tool set. · ADO.NET/Entity Framework based data access services using C#. · Experience with Visual Studio, C#, ASP.NET, MVC · Experience with XML and XSD Schemas (Altova XMLSpy or oXygen XML Developer is a plus) · Experience with Web Services and Windows Services. · Experience using Microsoft SQL Server and TSQL. · Experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, front end development. · Experience with Batch COBOL · Experience with CICS COBOL. · Experience with JCL. · Experience with TSO. · Experience with SQL (Structured Query Language). · Experience with DB2.
