*Job Description*
*Position Overview: *Our direct client is looking for a Web Developer to
design and implement an internal web application to keep track of our
external workforce. You will be responsible for delivering a fully
functional application on time and to specification.
*Responsibilities: *Your key responsibilities will be to build a
high-performance and scalable application using Ruby on Rails. You will
work end-to-end on all aspects of the application including the user
interface. The design will follow strict MVC principles and stay as much
within the Ruby on Rails framework as possible.
*Required Skills:*
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
7+ years Web Development experience
3+ years Ruby on Rails development experience
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills
Prior experience with Test Driven development
Comes from a Java development background
Website development with ROR NOT QA.
*Nice to Have:*
Experience with semantic HTML/XHTML and CSS
Working knowledge of CVS or SVN
Experience developing web applications in a Unix environment
