Piscataway NJ *Job Description:* Looking for a highly experienced senior test automation specialist to work as part of the advanced technology team to perform testing of multiple Proof-of-Concept new product development initiatives. This testing will be a combination of ad-hoc testing not driven by defined test cases, manual testing driven by defined test cases, and automated testing driven by scripts. The applications involved will have features accessed via web browser, features accessed via GUIs running as Windows applications, and features accessed via SOAP and REST interfaces. The automated testing framework for web applications is Selenium WebDriver driven mostly by Java or possibly Python Unit tests. Experience with SOAPUI for SOAP and REST interfaces is a plus but other tools can be brought to bear as experience dictates. The successful candidate will possess the qualities of flexibility, ingenuity and creativity in applying an extensive body of practical hands-on experience in the software testing field. Highly focused, goal-driven behavior is essential to meet the pressures of rapid turnaround with high quality output. Excellent communications skills and precision of thought are necessary to define the goals in this fluid environment, and then execute rapidly with minimal re-work and back-filling. In addition to the shorter-term goals of testing and validating PoC initiatives, the candidate will be asked to participate in the definition and selection of an automated testing framework that encompasses all aspects of product-quality hardened software development and operation, including unit testing, integration, stress, load and performance testing, interoperability with external partners, regression testing as products evolve, etc. Hands-on experience with implementation and use of enterprise-class products in this space such as HP UFT (Unified Functional Testing), SmartBear TestComplete, Xeenyx AscentialTest, and others is a definite plus. The candidate is expected to work independently or as part of a small team. Work is usually performed semi-independently with strategic direction from manager. The candidate is expected to provide guidance and technical leadership to other professional staff, both as a specialist within expertise area of Selenium WebDriver testing, and as a generalist software development professional. *Experience & Education:* *MUST have 5+ years of significant hands-on and leadership experience in defining, implementing and conducting test automation activities in a Secure SDLC development environment preferably using Agile development methodologies.* *Experience with Selenium WebDriver is required, and a variety of other tools is desired.* *Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required; Masters preferred.* *Duties & Responsibilities:* - *Testcase development: *Must have sufficiently broad background to understand the goals of telecom-related PoC initiatives and to help define the test cases to validate that the PoC satisfies these goals - *Execution of Ad-Hoc and Manual tests*: Must be able to translate general goals and defined test cases into specific actions using the multiple interfaces provided by the application under test. - *Test Automation with Selenium*: Must be able to transfer experiences gained through ad-hoc and manual testing to automated tests in a Selenium WebDriver framework using preferably Java. - *Test Automation Tools:* Prefer someone experienced, skilled & hands-on to help analyze & select an Enterprise-class commercial Test Automation Framework other than Selenium, that would work best across majority of the iconectiv projects.
