Responsibilities:
Installations for DB2 ESE on AIX/Linux environment and migrating DB2 UDB
version 9.1 to DB2 UDB V9.5 and V9.7 and V10
Experience in implementing HACMP Strategy and High Availability Disaster
Recovery (HADR with TSA), Federation, Performance monitoring and fine
tuning, OLTP and DSS applications
Problem determination and troubleshooting, interacting with Unix and
application group, and playing a diverse role with a large team of DBA’s
Create large table spaces using automatic storage management
Monitoring and tuning database software after installation and applying fix
packs for peak performance
Mentoring customer on managing complex environment
Database performance tuning through database physical design,
configurations and implementations of data aggregations, MQT’s,
partitioning, indexing and related settings
Database objects creation and alteration
Responsible for query performance optimization, tuning implementations, and
production support
Establish standards, controls, and procedures to ensure data integrity and
security
Establish effective security processes, plans, and policies like SOX
Implement database auditing with the help of DB2 audit tool
Implementing security administration tasks such as identification and
authentication controls
Monitor tasks with respect to database performance on packaged applications
Federated database server creation in order to allow access of another
database inside a DB2 database
Installation and configuration of Informix database instances and databases
Informix performance monitoring and troubleshooting skills
Creates and maintains database objects: indexes, tables, table spaces, etc.
Setting up Informix database logging, Backup and recovery procedure
