*Position: Sr. VMware Admin  *

*Location:* *Jacksonville,* *FL*

*Duration: 12 months*



*Responsibilities  *

Participate in regular VMware administration & provisioning activities on
VMware environment

Participating in regular datacenter operations, deployments and related
tasks

Manage and maintain the client datacenter by supporting deployment and
decommissioning of datacenter devices

Participate in client discussions, understand the current physical and
virtual server requirements and provide support for the same.

Install and manage ESX servers, provision new VMs, work with client in
coordinating with OEMs for any support related to products.

Coordinate with other functions like storage, network, backup & performance
and capacity for any cross functional issues/tasks

Perform monitoring and troubleshooting on the virtualization and datacenter
environment.

Ensure the client agreed SLA is met for any service requests, incident
tickets, problem tickets etc...

Participate and support on call in the event of production problems/support
during extra office hours

Keep the environment up-to-date by regular patching and applying fixes;
including ESX patches, hotfixes, vmtools, server firmware, blade chassis
firmware etc...

Datacenter operations such as racking, stacking, structured cabling

Guide and lead the team in VMware and datacenter management  in line with
the design documents, plan the activities of configuration and development
with the PM, work with product vendors to resolve product issues

Evaluate and deploy relevant solutions

Participate and support the regular DR drill activities

Understand the processes best practices and policies of client and assure
they are followed

Conduct knowledge transition sessions, maintain knowledge repository

Willingness to travel to datacenter locations upon the requirements

Apart from above mentioned responsibilities Lead consultant's job
description includes Prospecting and scoping, Solution definition, Solution
deployment, Support maintenance, Contracting and agreement, Presales
support, Mentoring talent management and recruitment, Thought leadership/IP
creation, Knowledge management, Client management



*Skills *

10+ years of experience in VMWare support & Cloud

In-depth knowledge and hands on expertise on VMware vSphere ESX 4 and 5,
VMware virtual center, vCloud director, Site Recovery Manager, Lifecycle
Mgr, Lab Manager, VC Operations Manager, Visioncore vFoglight and
performance monitor.

Good hands on experience in diagnostics & troubleshooting of ESX server
environment including ESX CLI, ESX patch management

Proficient with developing and using Power Shell scripts to manage/maintain
the VMware ESX environment

VCP4 or above Certification is preferred

Deep knowledge of ITIL V3 processes

Proficient with Datacenter operations and administration

Knowledge on Dell servers & management tools

Proficiency in tools / concepts like -  VMware vCenter, VMware VCD, VMware
VUM, VMware SRM, VMware vChargeback, VMware VCOPS, VCM, CapIQ, VMware
vCenter Converter, VMware Host Profiles, PowerShell, Quest/Vizioncore
vFoglight, EMC PowerPath/VE, Dell Open Manage Server Administrator, Dell
racadmin utility, Dell ITAssist/Open Manage Essentials, Dell DSET utility,
Dell PSM portal, Dell diagnostics, APC InfrastrXure Central.

Experience in Production Support, Incident Management, Change Management,
Problem Management

Analytical skills

troubleshooting skills

High Availability with or more of the above mentioned platforms
