*Position : Java Developer* *Location : **Newark, **DE* *Duration : * *One year plus. phone screen and F2F* *Local candidates only* *Job Description:* *Client is looking for someone with experience connecting applications via API interfaces using Java and XML. And strong communication skills. * Java, XML, API....very key things in addition to communication. Need someone very versed on connecting applications. Coding, but a different animal. *We DO NOT need someone to write an application.* *Required:* • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. • Strong Communication Skills • Strong experience creating interfaces between applications using Java, XML and APIs • Experience demonstrating skill using various OS/shell commands, editors and file systems in UNIX and Windows. Knowledge of scripting shell commands. • Experience demonstrating skill performing analysis, design, programming and testing in procedural languages (JAVA, XML). • Experience demonstrating skill analyzing and rewriting programs to increase efficiency or adapt to new requirements. • Knowledge of the Object Oriented paradigm. • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and utilizing vendor supplied application programming interfaces (API)s. • Knowledge of: Ø Relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, Access DB). Ø Data modeling and database tuning concepts (e.g., Hard-Joins, Foreign Keys relationships Referential Integrity validation).
