*Summary:*

This position is an Oracle and SQL Server Database Administrator that has
had hands-on experience with DDL, database creation, monitoring and
exposure to backups for maintaining databases and Shell Scripts. They will
support the Oracle and SQL Server database environments.



*Essential Duties/Responsibilities:*

·        Administer and support SQL Server and Oracle database environments
at

·        Perform SQL Server DBA functions for *multiple SQL Server
*environments
as well as Oracle database environments such as:

Backup, restore, performance tuning, security management, capacity
planning, standards development,  documentation and enforcement, database
refreshes, space management, instance management, scripting, DDL, Database
builds, upgrades, the use of database maintenance tools, apply Service
Packs, provide proactive monitoring, identify critical problems, make
corrective actions, fix on failed actions to database objects,
troubleshooting and problem resolution, verify scheduled jobs execution and
success...

·        Support and implement database needs for all purchased and
in-house written applications and assist with application development
issues and client problem resolution.

·        Database Change Management (create/alter/drop database objects in
all database environments) to support applications and project service
levels.



*Education:*

Requires a Bachelor of Science degree from accredited four-year college or
university in Computer Science, Information Technology or any combination
of education and experience equal to education period above. (ie., 2 years
college and 6 years of a specific experience)



*Experience:*

Requires 5-7 years of experience in database administration.



*Additional Knowledge, Skills, Licenses/Certifications, Abilities &
Personal Characteristics (KSLAPs):*

·        Experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases

·        Works well under pressure

·        Must be a self-motivated individual with the aptitude for
troubleshooting, testing and resolution of technical issues to the
satisfaction of the clients.

·        Analysis skills, the ability to logically think through a problem

·        Good written and oral communication skills

·        Ability to research issues, resolve problems and answer questions
related to SQL Server and Oracle databases, connectivity and availability
and 3rd party vendor products when necessary.

·        Excellent team player

·        Must be available, responsive and accountable for all actions made
in a database



*Physical Requirements: *

·        Able to work additional hours as needed on large projects
