NTSC, PAL juga SECAM itu standar proses scanning dari objek menjadi gambar dalam sistem (transmisi) Video. NTSC itu standar Amerika (National Television Standard Committee), sekarang dikembangkan menjadi ATSC (Advanced TSC). Standar PAL (Phase Alternating Line) dikembangkan di Eropa, merupakan tandingan NTSC. SECAM banyak dipakai di Eropa Timur. Yang dipakai di Indonesia adalah PAL B (UHF, bandwidth 8MHz) dan G (VHF, bandwidth 7MHz - nggak bisa Stereo NICAM).
