Berarti Win XP yg km beli lisensinya OEM donk, dimana klo mainboard km suatu saat nanti rusak maka lisensinya akan hangus begitu saja. Untuk support Windows Update juga sepertinya untuk Win XP Pro dan Win XP Home akan berakhir tahun 2007 nanti, jadi setelah support Security Update dan Patches dihentikan oleh Microsoft maka kompie yg terinstall Win XP akan rentan kena serangan virus bila sring konek ke internet. Berhubung bulan Juni 2005 yg lalu support untuk Windows 2000 Pro sudah dihentikan oleh Microsoft. Jadi, menurut saya sih support untuk Windows hanya berlaku selama kurang lebih 5 tahun, lebih dari itu Microsoft tdk mendukung lagi. Ada komentar dari rekan2 milis semua mengenai dukungan Microsoft terhadap produk Windows buatan mereka yg berlaku dlm jangka waktu terbatas (hanya kurang lebih 5 tahun saja).
