Although in most cases NAT and the WGIC will satisfy all requirements for Internet sharing, sometimes the WinGate Proxies are necessary. If you decide to use a proxy you must separately configure each application individually. This will require specifying the WinGate server IP address and the port that the proxy service is running on (this is displayed next to the service in GateKeeper). NAT can efficiently use proxies 'transparently' for common services such as WWW and FTP. You don't need to do anything to enable this as it works by default. Note: If you configure an application to use a proxy, it will not use NAT.
