Briefly, the existing product, QPX, is still in SBCL.
We're working on a new project, an airline reservation
system, and for that we're using CCL. So we have
not really changed. There are a whole lot of factors,
and to tell the truth I'm a bit afraid of talking about
this because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or
start a debate or anything like that, and
anything I say will get interpreted as the official
voice of ITA even though I have no such permission.
They are both excellent implementations of Common Lisp!

It turns out that the problem I was running into with "iterate"
was happening only because of a change in Clozure Common
Lisp (CCL, formerly known as OpenMCL) that was made
in the ITA branch.
This is off-topic, but I'm curious. Are you guys at ITA replacing sbcl
with CCL? If so, would you care to elaborate on the reasons? (I use
mainly sbcl for my work, but I've been meaning to test ccl for some
time)
