I printed those two documents without any problem on
a HP Laserjet 5m using Acrobat Reader. If I find a Deskjet
somewhere, I will try to reproduce the problem. The only
'special feature' I see on the labe.pdf is a barcode. Maybe
the deskjet has trouble drawing this barcode? I really don't
know.
