iText doesn't need a graphical context. Note however that some system
administrators are over-zealous and remove the entire java.awt.* package
including the innocuous java.awt.Color required by iText. In this case you
have the options described in
http://www.object-refinery.com/phorum-3.3.2a/read.php?f=2&i=2987&t=2987. By
the way, iText also works with jdk 1.1.x.

About the table, you can increase the padding or give more details on how
the table is created.
