Thanks for your response. The reason that I want to have more control is that in some 
cases the length of a document is fixed (e.g. 2 pages). In these cases it is not 
possible to add the remaining text in a new column. In such cases I would like to have 
more information about the text that didn't fit to be able to do something intelligent 
with it.

No.

Why? The usual procedure is to write the text that didn't fit elsewhere
using the same ColumnText.

Use a generic tag and a page event.
