Hello,
I am considering to use iText to create a simple *executable* running on RedHat
Linux. Its purpose is to merge one variable ascii text with a .jpg, using the
waternmakrk function.

I downloaded the .zip file of the library, and I exploded it on linux. Just to
test, I also downloaded and copied the sample program Chap0101.java.

I get a lot of errors with a simple compile. I added the CLASSPATH environmenet
variable pointing to the root of iText tree, and the things are now better. I can
successfully compile, but as sooon s the linker starts, I get a lot of unresolved. I
tried to compile *all* the .java files (is that what I need?). Ok for those in the
root, but 12/140 fail in the /pdf directory with even strange errors.

The question is: is it possible to create an executable using iText library?
Any
guidelines on how to do that on Linux?

        Thanks.

        Giuliano Rescaldani
