For those who didn't know this yet, I live in Flanders/Belgium.

In a few months there will be elections in Flanders.
SPIRIT is a political party that wants to put F/OS Software
on the political agenda. Feel free to sign their petition:

Free Software in government and for schools!

1. Government should be more critical regarding the software industry and use
its weight as a customer to stimulate competition.
2. At the moment, our schools server as free training institutes for MicroSoft.
3. Sparse educational resources cannot be used to purchase unnecessary MicroSoft
licenses.
4. The influence of some software companies over government is in contradiction
with democratic values like open access and transparency.
5. Monopolies are inefficient and are the cause of higher costs and lower quality.
6. Open source software enables the sharing of knowledge, thereby improving the
product.
7. A creative economy needs creative thinking on the subject of software.
8. Free software creates new markets and leads to new growth.
