Hereby you can find a PDF that causes the problem.

It opens without any problem in Acrobat Reader 6

This can be a broken PDF. Send me a couple of the PDFs that cause the exception.

Hello,

Can somebody help me?  I get a ClassCastException on the following line of code:

List list = SimpleBookmark.getBookmark(pdfreader);

Part of the stacktrace:

com.lowagie.text.pdf.PdfLiteral
java.lang.ClassCastException: com.lowagie.text.pdf.PdfLiteral
at com.lowagie.text.pdf.SimpleBookmark.bookmarkDepth(Unknown Source)
at com.lowagie.text.pdf.SimpleBookmark.getBookmark(Unknown Source)

I don't have this on all pdf files either.
