How about converting the Pdf output into a Blob (see java.sql.Blob), then storing to the database? If you are using the setObject method, I think it may be failing because there is no mapping for the Java type your are trying to store. Just a thought as to how to solve your problem.

I don't see that this has anything to do with iText. All the Document
are in memory, the actual pdf output may go anywhere. From your text
I've no idea what kind of objects you're dealing with but the problem is
a generic Java one.
