The layout of each cell can be done in the cell event.
This is not working. I'm calling methods on the cell that is passed into my PdfPCellEvent, I know the method is being called, but the borders are still there.

I also changed to using getDefaultCell as you suggeted. Now the nested table is about 80% of the enclosing cell, and the borders are still present. Can someone else try the code and see if you can get it to work?
(I'm trying to get the floating boxes effect of an HTML table.)
