The on-board trick is working with a PdfTemplate (and playing with the
alignment of the total pagenumber). Of course this doesn't solve all
possible problems (for instance if you need right aligment). In that
case, it's better to add the footer afterwards.
Doing more than one pass is pretty standard too (for instance when you
are filling, flattening and concatenating forms).
