You're right; PdfPCell.addElement() works fine.
I missed that one when I was looking through the documentation/API....

Subject: [iText-questions] Are Lists within Table cells possible?
I'm trying to put a simple bulleted List a Cell of a Table
(or a PdfPCell of
a PdfTable) using iText 1.3.
Everything I try seems to be disallowed:
- I can't put a List directly within a Cell
- I can't put a Paragraph containing a List into a cell
- I can't put a List into a Phrase and then put the Phrase into a cell
- etc. etc.
I'm getting the impression that Lists simply aren't allowed
with table cells
under any circumstances but I can't find anything that
actually says that. I
also can't think of a good reason for forbidding Lists within
cells. I've
searched the archive of the mailing list and have seen this
question asked
by a few people in the past but I can't find any answers for those
questions; the question just seems to have been ignored in each case.
Is it possible to put a simple bulleted List in a cell of a
table or not? If
yes, how do I do it? Either a brief description of the
technique or a code
fragment would be very helpful. If Lists simply aren't allowed within
tables, can anyone suggest a workaround that would get me
something that
_looks_ more or less like a bulleted list within a single
cell of a table?
