If you just want to have a look at the pagesizes without programming you could use the selectedpages plugin. It provides a tableview that can be sorted. Because of that it is suitable to extract pages of a given size.

To find out which pages are monochrom and which are coloured the only free solution I know of is the pscolor application in the contrib directory of the ghostscript sourcecode.
