The J# port is rather useful if you already have lots of Java code to convert. For starting new projects itextsharp is better.

Why not use itextsharp instead. It is full port of iTexti in C# language and doesn’t need J#.

I also found it confusing that there is itextdotnet and there is itextsharp. But I would suggest itextsharp because it doesn’t need bridge technologies like J#.

Abhishek.

The pure Java version will not work on NET as it stands. You would need to recompile the iText source as J# first – and even that is not 100% guaranteed to work.

Subject: [iText-questions] iText Dot Net

Hi,

This is F. Jiménez, from Spain. I’m developing some reports using the iTextDotNet library. Already succeeded, but im stuck with something. After many days trying, and having readed the faqs, manuals, etc… I don’t get to work / don’t figure how to generate the PDF directly in the buffer response. Actually I have to generate the PDF using a temporary file, but I cant to this. I need to generate the file in the buffer, then launch it.

PD: After many tries, I tried to adapt http://itextdocs.lowagie.com/examples/com/lowagie/examples/general/webapp/OutSimplePdf.java to use it with C# or VB NET, without any succeed.

Thanks in advance,

Fernando Jiménez
