Hello, thank you. You were right. Acrobat Professional is buggy. The versions between 6.0.0 and 7.0.4 do NOT concat the current transformation matrix when the soft mask dictionary is selected into the graphics state. From version 7.0.5 on this is fixed.
I would like to use a workaround and replace the current transformation matrix with the identity before selecting the soft mask dictionary. That way it would be possible to create PDFs that work with all Acrobat Versions. The version that do concat the CTM would simply concat the identity. I cannot figure out how to set the CTM with iText. You can set the Text Matrix to whatever you want but the CTM? Do I have to insert literal content?
