Your colleague Torsten Haase already asked the same question.
I refered to Leonard Rosenthol, but I think this was not an option,
because Leonard sells a contract under the same terms as the MPL.

Your client wants an Apache or BSD license (but that's out of the question),
or a 'commercial' license. Note that the word 'commercial' is not well
chosen,
because it gives the impression that MPL'ed software isn't commercial (and
that just isn't true). I think your client's problem is self inflicted.
To me,
it's a problem based on the interpretation of words. Your client could
probably
solve it with a 'simple' update of his policy (I put the word 'simple'
between
quotes because you haven't disclosed the name of your client; maybe if you
did, you would find out that other affiliates of your client are already
using
iText under the MPL).

If changing the policy is not an option, you should contact the Technology
Transfer Office of Ghent University. I have sent the mail address of one of
our lawyers to your colleague. I don't think our lawyer has sent an answer
to Torsten yet, but yesterday I received a mail from him that he is working
on a solution that would allow us to address requests like this in the
future.

Of course no decision will be made without Paulo Soares' consent!

best regards,
Bruno
