If you want something that is totally invisible to the
Acrobat GUI - then I would use a custom dictionary in the /Catalog
with whatever you want it it...

Not true, either.
If you do your own data block, then you can encrypt it,
filter it, etc. so that it just looks like binary garbage in vi.
