I repeat: if you use Image.getInstance( filename ), iText will not reduce the quality of the image: the JPG will have as many pixels in the PDF as it has outside the PDF. Bill's questions help you understand the difference between pixels, resolution, rendering, etc... Maybe you are using a device that isn't able to render the JPG as expected. As Leonard pointed out: JPG is not a good format for vector data. Are you creating a JPG from an application based on vector data?
