The most comprehensive is PDF Appraiser from Apago (http://
www.apago.com). The second best is the Preflight feature in Adobe
Acrobat 8 Professional. Everything else pales in comparison.
(and I say this as the editor of the PDF/A specification)

The PDF/A committee in conjunction with the PDF/A Competence Center
(http://www.pdfa.org) are developing such a suite. At this time, the
two products mentioned above (Appraiser and Acrobat) have been run
through the suite - which is how I know how well they fare ;). I've
also tried some others, but they never get far enough :(.
