It would be possible if you've chosen a font that doesn't have an
ascender in that version of the font...

yes, the two systems are totally different. more on, i
don't know anything at all about the possibly hundreds
of environments, where my program should be running soon..
but how is it possible, that the setuseascender appears to fail
on some fonts?
how shall i handle this problem?
