Unfortunately it's a little bit of both (as far as I remember).

Yes, that was what I intended to do. Unfortunately I didn't find
any sponsors for such a project. I remember I asked Google because
it would be great if Google mail had an option to get your mailbox
as a PDF collection, but Chris DiBona treated me as if I was garbage,
so I didn't ask any further.
